The ANU is accepting applications for the summer-intensive course, Advanced Microscopy in Bioscience (BIOL3203/BIOL6203) in 2019. This course will be of interest to students in areas covering plant sciences, biosciences, cell and molecular biology and organismal biology.

This 2 week intensive course will run from 29th January to 11th February 2019 and is open to 3rd year undergraduates, and Masters students at ANU. There are 30 places available.

This course focuses on the application of various microscopic approaches to analyse the variance, function and structure of plant, animal and human samples across scales from the biological system to the molecular level. Students will experience how microscopy enables researchers to undertake powerful qualitative and quantitative analysis and they will be guided in interpretation of biological sample analysis.

Students will learn:

  • how to prepare and study different tissues
  • which instruments and analytical tools to use for specific enquiries
  • how to present and interpret visual data.

Please fill in the expression of interest form to register your interest in this course for the 2019 Summer Session.

Registrations close on 30th November, 2018. Students will be notified the outcome in late December 2018 - early January 2019.
