Description

Explore how FLIM, photon counting, and tunable excitation can overcome imaging challenges in complex biological samples such as parasites, coral, and plant tissues. Imaging complex biological tissues often pushes conventional fluorescence microscopy to its limits due to background signals and wide variations in sample brightness. This presentation demonstrates how the Leica STELLARIS 8 confocal, combined with expertise at the Australian National University’s Centre for Advanced Microscopy, addresses these challenges using fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM), photon-counting acquisition, and tunable excitation.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how to:

  • Use fluorescence lifetime imaging to distinguish fluorophores from overlapping autofluorescence in complex biological samples
  • Optimize excitation and emission settings to improve spectral targeting and quantitative fluorescence measurements
  • Use photon-counting detection and extended dynamic range to capture both bright and faint signals within the same sample
