Accessing CAM
To access the Centre for Advanced Microscopy (CAM), complete the OH&S induction, register your details and attend a first-user meeting. After these steps, you'll be able to book facilities.
To become a user of CAM, you will need to follow these steps:
1. Complete the OH&S Induction
- Complete the online induction (includes a 30-minute presentation and quiz).
- Register to attend a facility tour, usually held on Tuesdays at 10:30-11:00 am.
- To gain access to use CAM's Zeiss LSM780 Confocal or Zeiss LSM800 with Airyscan, you will also need to attend the Confocal Room Induction, usually held on Tuesdays at 11.00-12:00.

2. Register your details
After you have completed the induction and filled in the required forms, please register your details via CAM's online booking system.
3. Attend a first-user meeting
Make an appointment for you and your supervisor to meet with Felipe Kremer (Physical Sciences) or Melanie Rug (Biological Sciences) to discuss your project, ensure you have access to the necessary equipment, and arrange access to the centre. Please send your completed source funding form when you book your meeting.

After you have completed these steps, your profile will be activated and you will be able to make online bookings to use the facilities at CAM.
A staff member will work with new users until they are considered to be sufficiently confident and capable of operating an instrument independently. Please notify the staff member who is the contact for the instrument you would like to use when you make your first booking. Staff will continue to provide support as required.
