CAM Image Competition 2026

CAM’s annual image competition celebrates outstanding images supported by our facility. Entries are now being accepted for our 2026 competition. Images from all instruments and disciplines are welcome.

Entry criteria

• each entrant can submit up to 3 images;
• images must have been captured using one of the instruments at CAM;
• only images that have not been submitted in previous years are eligible for entry.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries:

• 1st Prize – A $50 gift voucher from Craft Beans Cafe, 7 hours EM or confocal use and your prize winning image printed on a t-shirt.
• 2nd Prize – 1 session EM or 4 hours confocal use and your prize winning image printed on a t-shirt.
• 3rd Prize - Your prize winning image printed on a t-shirt.

Successful images communicate a visual narrative through excellent technical skills. Judges are looking for microscopy/microanalysis images that are striking and well-crafted. Furthermore, your creativity in terms of image enhancement, your image caption and/or interesting story behind the displayed image will also be judged.

Please submit your entries, including the form above to CAM at microscopy@anu.edu.au. The competition will close on Friday, 25^th September, 2026.

The winning images will be placed on permanent display at CAM and used in CAM’s annual calendar. You can view last year’s winning images here.
